"All my wood is purchased from tree surgeons, who have removed the trees due to development, old age, wind or snow storms... Upon returning to my studio I proceed by looking at the logs to find the best possible way to cut them up, to produce the best figure and highest yield...The rough bowls are than loaded into the lumber-drying kiln. Over the next 30 days the wood will be dried slowly down to about 7% moisture content."
